I believe the aim is to develop and lose to get lottery picks. I believe that was at all times the plan.” Asked if he needs to be a part of the workforce shifting ahead, Smith mentioned, “Not if the aim is not to compete, to win.”

Smith, 33, is averaging a career-low 6.7 factors per sport in roughly 20 minutes of motion per evening, which is the least quantity of court-time he has seen for the reason that 2007-08 season. According to Lloyd, Smith says he has no relationship with Cavs GM Koby Altman, and that he prefers to be traded moderately than accepting a buyout.
The Cavs will host LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday evening, marking James’ first sport in opposition to his former workforce as a member of the Lakers. That sport, airing on ESPN, is scheduled to tipoff at 8pm ET.
